Puppies Available for Adoption
We are now interviewing possible forever homes for this lovely little girl. Susie will not be ready to go to her
new home until mid to late May. We start the interview process early because it takes time to screen homes
to find a good fit for our puppies.
Introducing Susie
Born March 8, 2017
Born March 8, 2017
Named Susie because I have been wanting to name one of the puppies after a
dear friend of mine and this little lady just seemed to fit the name. Susie was first puppy born from our Mar 8, 2017 litter. Susie knows her name and it is so cute to watch her because sometimes when you call her she gets this look in her eye of
shear delight and she barks at you as if to say, "Huuuuuman you called, here I
come get ready" as she races over to you as fast as her little legs will carry her.
Susie is a lovely girl. She is curious about things around her but at the same
time she is cautious. Susie is the most laid back puppy from this litter but she
will roam around and explore her surroundings and she absolutely loves
being around the two legged creatures in the house. She loves playing with her
sisters but she is not normally one to initiate the playing but when one
has started she is more then happy to join in the puppy play session.
Susie is the ultimate huggler of the litter. When being held she immediately
snuggles into your shoulder resting her head on it making it feel like she is
hugging you. Every so often she will raise it and give nose kisses or kisses
wherever you will let her (doggie nose kisses here only please). When lying on
the bed with her she crawls onto your neck/face area so her sisters cant
and nestles right in. It is a lovely feeling and makes you feel
happy but ummmm smothered lol.
Susie is playful and is being taught not to bite (all puppies bite) with a gentle
trick we will show you that works really well he is learning quickly not to. Like her sisters Susie has pretty much mastered the pee pad training and she runs to
the door with the other dogs when I ask who wants out, Susie is very
comfortable using the outside as a potty too. She is no where near asking to
go out on her own to use the outside as a potty, but with pee pad in
place by door we are safe for any accidents.
Susie loves going outside and bouncing around and playing with her sisters.
All of them puppies whine at the door to go out and they are the last to come in,
I often have to go get them to bring them in after the adult dogs have come
in because they want to stay outside and play. The outside is an exciting
place and they have lots of space to run around and do
those funny puppy things they do.
Susie has been well socialized and she is equally comfortable with the every
day sounds in and around the home. Susie has no problem attacking
my feet while I am cooking in the kitchen and she doesn't even notice the loud
noises outside that the GO train makes when it passes by in the background.
Susie is use to the hustle and bustle of everyday life and it's noises. Susie
will follow you all over looking at you till you give her what she wants
which is a hug, her ears rubbed or even a belly rub.
Susie loves to interact with all of us from the feet up. She loves to
nibble feet and if we are lying down on the bed she will make a beeline for
our faces to smoother us with her puppy kisses. We do end up taking a paw
or two to the face sometimes lol so it is a good thing she is still tiny. Occasionally
we end up with a ear getting a quick nibble on our ear or having our hair
pulled but its all good puppy loving.
All of our dogs have been trained to eliminate on pee pads inside the house
as well as using the potty outside. We train our dogs to eliminate both ways
because this allows them flexibility in the type of homes that will be able to
adopt them. Being trained both ways allows our puppies to be adopted by loving families that live in an apartment without outside potty access or
for a home that has access to a outside potty.
All the puppies are very comfortable going outside to do their business as
well as using the pee pads inside the house although they are far
from house trained and sometimes miss the pee pads.
If you want your puppy to only do their business outside you will need to train
them to your preference. They will need frequent visits outside until they understand that is the ONLY place you will be allowing them to do their
business. None of the puppies potty training is complete and they will
require your attention and diligence to help them learn where it is you
want them to do their business.
You might be wondering why we keep our puppies till they are 10 to 12 weeks
old. One of the reasons we keep our puppies till this age rather than selling them
at 8 weeks is so when they come to you they are pretty much past the biting
stage. With that said even at this age the puppies are young, we have been training them not to bite but all puppies bite especially at these younger ages.
We have a gentle correction method we use (and will teach you) to discourage biting that really works and that puppies learn quickly.
Another reason is during this time puppies need a lot of socialization especially during this time of their lives. We expose out puppies to all sorts of interactions so they learn that other people and pets are not something to be afraid of.
We also believe in allowing the weaning process with mom and the pups to occur at their pace rather then rushing so we can sell our puppies when they are 8 weeks old which is what most people do. This is a more gentle process and ensures that
the puppies are mature enough to leave mom and are eating when
they are ready to rather than being forced to meet a deadline.
The puppies have been sleeping on the bed with us for some time now, as soon
as they were able to jump up onto the bed on their own they have been sleeping
with us. We are ultimately looking for a home that would welcome their puppy
to sleep with them, it is very comforting for the puppy and for us as well.
When the puppies are on the bed they will smother you with doggie kisses
and ear nibbles and the occasional hair pull. You might have to fight for your
pillow as well because puppies love sleeping up close to your head and
neck area like they have done from birth with their mom.
Susie is an absolutely delightful little girl and she is full of just the right amount
of spunk and cuddle bum and she is super friendly too. She loves interacting
with us and getting cuddled, having her ears and heads scratched
and having her belly rubbed.
Susie is such a delightful little girl and and we find ourselves laughing at her
and the silly things she does all the time and we enjoy them immensely.
Susie is very affectionate and love to cuddle, and we she will bring
much joy and happiness to her new family.
