Spay/neuter agreement
All of our puppies are sold as “companion pets.”
All of our puppies are sold as companion pets only. ALL puppies are sold with a spay/neuter agreement,
and they CANNOT be bred. You are required to have the puppy spayed or neutered
when it is between 6 and 9 months of age. If the spay or neuter is not completed in this time
frame and proof sent to us, your puppies guarantee / contract is null and void.
Having your puppy Spay / neutered can prolong their life by eliminating reproductive cancers as
well as provide you with a better companion. Recovery time for these surgeries is fairly quick.

The reason for selling our puppies with a spay/neuter agreement is to protect our puppies from
getting into the hands of puppy mills and pet stores. Our puppies are raised in our home, and
become part of our family. The health and well-being of our Cavaliers are very important to us.
All of are Cavaliers are treated with loving care, provided excellent veterinary care, and are
given much attention. We do our best to protect this breed and our individual puppies
from getting into the hands of unscrupulous individuals and puppy mills.

Spaying female puppies
A intact female will generally go into heat twice a year which is very messy and leaves bloody discharge
wherever she goes. Once she is spayed she will no longer have a heat cycle. Spaying is a surgical procedure
that removes the ovaries and uterus. If done before the first estrus (heat cycle) it greatly reduces
the risks of breast and uterine cancer.
If you own an intact female you have to be concerned with having an unplanned litter should an intact
male get to her. Unplanned litters can be very dangerous; your female can be hurt if the male is of
a larger breed and the puppies may be too large for her to pass naturally. Don’t think a fence
will keep the stray males away, hormones can move mountains to get to her.
Spaying will not make your Cavalier fat and
will not change her temperament.

Neutering male puppies
After being neutered a male will be much less likely to mark their territory and or mount people
and or objects. These behaviors disappear once the testosterone levels recede after neutering
if they were there in the first place. Their need to find a mate is gone as well, so they
make much better companions and have only you on their minds.
Neutering is the surgical procedure that removes the testicles and it greatly
reduces the risk of testicular and prostate cancer.
Neutering your Cavalier will not change
his temperament or make him fat.

When is the correct time to spay/neuter your Cavalier?
There is some debate when is the right time to have your pet Spay or Neutered. ALL our puppies are sold with a
spay/neuter contract and they MUST be spayed/neutered by six months of age which is before
they reach sexual maturity which has the greatest medical benefit for the Cavalier.
